Chief Executive Officer
Mike Killeen is Chief Executive Officer of Artemis Investment Management Limited (effective December 2016) and joined the management team in Q1 2016. Mike has over twenty years of experience in senior leadership roles in or adjacent to the financial services industry and has participated in the transformational growth of the wealth management industry in Canada. Prior to joining Artemis, Mike had senior roles as the Chief Operating Officer of Aston Hill Financial Inc. (TSX: AHF), Executive Vice President with Davis + Henderson Corp. (TSX: DH), Senior Vice President and General Counsel with CI Financial (TSX: CIX), and was an associate with a prominent Canadian law firm. Mike graduated from Western University (London, ON) with a Bachelor of Science and a Law degree. Mike was called to the Ontario Bar in 1992 and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
Trevor Maunder, CA
Director and Chief Financial Officer
Trevor is Artemis’ Chief Financial Officer. Prior to his time at Artemis, Trevor worked at MDC Partners Inc. within the Corporate Development group, beginning there in early 2000. During this period, Trevor participated in a wide variety of initiatives, including two restructurings, acting as a Partner Company CFO, overseeing the successful bidding and implementation of the Multi-Print III stamp contract awarded by the USPS, and assisting with acquisitions and due diligence. In addition, he led the Company’s compliance group, and facilitated the implementation and conversion of procedures across the organization to meet the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley. His last role included responsibility for the development and implementation of MDC’s centralized procurement and other shared services. Prior to joining MDC, Trevor was a Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where his focus was Telecom & Media, primarily in transaction support. Trevor is a Chartered Accountant, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University.
Sean Lawless, CFA
Portfolio Manager and Chief Compliance Officer
Sean is a Portfolio Manager and Chief Compliance Officer at Artemis. Sean is based in New York and has 20 years of industry experience, primarily specializing in investment manager selection and due diligence. Most recently he was Senior Vice President – Strategic Initiatives for U.S. Trust responsible for developing and implementing a distribution platform for investment management products. Prior to that, Sean was Head of Multimanager – Americas for HSBC and a senior member of the Global Multimanager Investment Committee that was responsible for setting policy and manager selection for HSBC’s global subadvisory businesses.
Sean received his BS in Economics from Southern Connecticut State University. He is a CFA charter holder, a member of the CFA Institute and the New York Society of Security Analysts.
Lisa Conrad, CFP
Director of Client Services
Lisa is Artemis’ Director of Client Services. She brings more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, through her work on the retail brokerage sides of BMO Nesbitt Burns, Midland Walwyn and Merrill Lynch. Most recently, she worked as an Account Manager for the Prime Brokerage & Electronic Trading Services group at CIBC World Markets, assisting both Canadian and international alternative investment clients. Prior to this, Lisa managed investments of High Net Worth Clients as part of a retail brokerage team. She is registered as a Certified Financial Planner, and completed her Bachelor of Commerce at Dalhousie University.
Director of Business Development
Jay is Artemis’ Director of Business Development. Jay brings more than 20 years of Sales experience in the Advertising and Marketing industry. Most recently, he worked as Regional Director for Smart Circle International overseeing operations in the North Eastern United States. He not only oversaw day to day operations, but also hired, trained, and managed over 200 sales representatives. Jay earned a Bachelor of Arts and an Economics degree from Bishop’s University. He also has a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Seneca College.
Client Services Associate
Aly is our Client Service Associate. Prior to his time at Artemis, Aly worked at MDC Partners as a research associate where his responsibilities included research and analysis of current and future business opportunities. His experience there included a 1-year mentorship with the CEO of the company. Aly has also successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course. Prior to MDC, Aly was a Tennis Professional at York Racquets where he also competed and earned a top-10 Provincial ranking as well as a top-30 National ranking.
